I am a NEW member. It took me over 50 years to get my beloved Jag XKE (SII 1969 version). My wife says I can fondle those curves all I want BUT only those curves. I purchased it on eBay from a gentleman in CA. It had been rebuilt back in 1969 and there is a site that has pictures of it being under way. But there are a few "old age" problems. The rear brakes seem to drag. The clutch master cylinder went out to lunch big time. The ignition switch isd trying to harass me. Most of these issues we (a mechanic friend and I) are going to resolve these issues.
In 1962 I looked at an "E" in San Francisco while shopping for an Austin Healey. The Salesman convinced me to go for the Healey. But I never forgot thee beautiful shape of the "E". I went on to buy the Healey followed by a TR-4 (It was entered in the S.F. car show. Then came an MGB until the kids grew to big to sleep in the back. Well a few months back my current wife told me there was an E-Type on eBay. I thought I would put in a low, very low, offer and see what happened. Well the gentleman responded with a counter offer that was exactly what I thought it should be worth. So I had an E-Type -- some 50 years after I saw the first one in a show room. So now starts a new journey. The E-Type is totally different from the Healey but I am not so old I can't learn. I just hope I stick around long enough to enjoy it before I have to take up my other position up in the heavens.............. Al

Welcome! I can remember pressing my teenage nose against the glass at BMC here in the Bay Area and drooling over the E-types when they were new. Enjoy your new toy!
