NEW MEMBER saying HELLO
New to the forum last week, taking a moment to say hello.
Twenty two years at Ford Motor, lots and lots of hours looking at doors, hoods, roofs, quarter panels, decklids and other automobile stampings, plant closure in 2007 shook up my live a little, subsequently worked at a myriad of concerns, including as an Ops Manager at LKQ responsible for the dismantling salvage vehicles so my life has certainly revolved around automobiles, with many other experiences along the way ... https://www.linkedin.com/in/eric-porosky-b3a1887/
I was the first guy at Ford Motor, Cleveland Stamping to buy a Jaguar when Ford acquired Jag in 1999, I couldn't wait ... it was a 1987 Solent Blue XK6 ... it was keyed the first week I parked it in the salary parking lot by the way ... I am a confirmed Caraholic .... I started driving in 1972 and I've squandered a fortune on cars, I don't believe I ever had a car for more than three years and I've flipped quite a few within six months of acquiring them, I always come back to a Jag, Owning a Jag is one of those "if I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand" things.
My most recent acquisition is a Black 2007 XKR COUPE - I have yet to take it anywhere that it doesn't garner attention and start a conversation, a sexy, mans man, fifteen year old vehicle. I actually plan to keep this one (famous last words) for the duration .... SO GLAD to have found a Coupe in better than average shape ... what a looker.
Since I acquired it in September I have changed the supercharger pulley, picked up a V-Switch100lbft/75HP tune from VIEZU, added K&N air filters, painted the license plate trim black to match the car and gave it a good detail ... and damn, does it look good! Still sorting a few things, prior owner pulled the fuse for the radio antenna and I have yet to squeeze in the back seat to remove the middle section and put the fuse back in, getting reacquainted with my CD collection, LOVE he ALPINE Stereo ... makes you press the accelerator pedal ... A/C-D/C, ZZ TOPP, ZEPPELIN MAN!
Looking forward to learning the intricacies of my vehicle through the forum, willing to tackle the work I am able to do ... can enlighten you folks regarding the pulley change, the V-Switch experience ... fitted the car with a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus tires ... still have the Dunlop SP SPORT's that I took off that might go on another set of wheels, might sell in the MARKETPLACE ... all good, looking forward to it!
