Default VW Guy Tries a Jag

So I am awaiting the arrival of my new toy, a 2000 XKR coupe. I have been driving and working on VWs for the past 12 years and will continue using my Passat for my dd. Was considering a few types of cars for a toy (Acura NSX, Porsche Cayman, VW Phaeton W12, etc.) and finally settled on the XKR when I saw one for sale locally and test drove it. What a beautiful driving, powerful, sexy car. It's the combination of these things that made up my mind.

I was already to buy the local one (2003 XKR coupe), when I stumbled into a low-mileage 2000 in California for a great price. So the deal was done the next day and the transporter is picking it up tomorrow. I should have it delivered on Tuesday.

I am really looking forward to some cruises in the mountains and some flat-out runs on the eastern high plains. I'm planning to change the pulley to make up for the 3 psi drop at altitude, but probably no other changes from stock.

Have already been using the forums for the wealth of information about these cars. I hope I can make some contributions once I get to know my cat.

As a VW guy your headline caught my eye. I have always had a VW and still do. I think you'll find the Jag is a very different animal. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. Welcome to the forums.
