I'm not officially a Jag owner yet - but I've signed all the paperwork. All they have to do is deliver it now.

2008 XKR Coupe, Portfolio Edition (1 of 255 as I understand it for that year. No idea what the breakdown is between coupes and convertibles.)

Bought it from Imperial Motors Inc. of Lake Bluff, IL. 32,500 miles on the odometer, Celestial Black over black interior.

Guess what I'll be doing at the next Cars & Coffee gathering?

Ooo! It's BLACK! My Favorite!
I've about decided my next Jaguar will be an XK8. I think they're the prettiest, Next to the Xj6 series 2, that is. And of course, it will be BLACK!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Actually, "Celestial Black" is described as a more "midnight blue" - or as someone put it, the blue you see around the full moon at night. It's so dark you have to be right up on it to see the blue.

Which happens to be my favorite color for a car, and part of what pushed me to buy it. That and the gorgeous body lines. And the 420Hp supercharged V8. And the massive Alcon brakes. And.... well, you get the idea.

Welcome.

I agree, the drive home is the BEST.

Well done anyway.

Thanks. Couldn't afford the time off to drive it home, and the weather between Chicago and Tucson at the end of January is unpredictable at best. Figured I'd let someone else worry about that part.
