Hello, and thank you for letting me join the group! My name is Rachael, and I live in Georgia (USA). I own a 2004 XKR with about 70K miles on it. (My other cars are a 2000 Honda Civic EX and a 2008 Lexus LS460.) I live in hot, humid Georgia (USA) and previously had owned only American cars. Now I’m beginning to I understand the fuss (and sometimes the heartache) about Jaguars. :-)

Welcome to the forums Rachael,

I always have a Coupe in cold, wet England. Which was your choice for hot, humid Georgia - Coupe or Convertible?

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.

Thanks, GGG. I opted for the coupe. Even though it’s hot and humid most of the year here, and unlike many sports car owners, I don’t find riding in a convertible much fun. My hair gets tangled by the wind, I get sunburned easily (skin cancer runs in the family), and the spring/summer sun angle here defeats every pair of sunglasses I have and shines almost directly down behind the lenses into my eyes. Plus there’s my fear of being in an accident in a convertible and the car flipping over while the top is down. Those may be some unusual reasons for choosing the coupe, but they seemed solid to me. :-)

It's a long time since I had a tangled hair problem but it was bright ginger with the easily burned skin to match. Even when we go down to the hot sun of the South of France and Spain, I prefer a Coupe for the shade and the AC.

You were lucky to find a Coupe. The majority of original US buyers opted for Convertibles.
