I bought my first Jaguar XJS coupe (I bought my first Jaguar, a 1983 XJ6, back in 1988) over Thanksgiving after driving from Chicago to Detroit to check it out. It appears to be a one-owner car that was in Florida most of its life (original owner homes in both Michigan and FL). I love the style of the car, but--despite the lowish miles (59K)--I haven't been able to drive it as much as I'd like, as I'm trying to get various issues sorted out. After the first day of driving it (after having it shipped home after purchase), sediment in the tank finally clogged the fuel pump filter, so a nearby repair shop (Import Auto in Schererville, IN--thanks Bob!), pulled the tank and fixed it, but later had to correct the common fuel smell in the boot (EVAP gasket). Then, I've been struggling with a cam cover gasket leak. That said, still enjoy driving the classic cruiser.
I expect to be an active forum member, as I have lots of questions!

Sometimes low miles isn't a really good thing. In your case for example, low miles and little driving has allowed gunk to collect here and there, and gaskets to shrink up and leak rather than keep it all stirred up by moving it around. Cars, Any cars, were meant to be DRIVEN not to sit as garage queens.

Getting it all right and correct will take time and effort. But then, if we wanted to jump in, turn the key and go, we'd all drive soulless Toyotas, wouldn't we, rather than the Pure Class of a Jaguar!

And I agree; low miles aren't always a great thing. My XJS had only 100 miles put on since 2017, likely when all the fuel tank corrosion kicked in. But surprising to me is how challenging it can be to find parts, but being a part of this forum has been extremely helpful already (thanks Paul!).
