It turns I may have posted out of order, so, my apologies to those concerned. I have a 2003 S Type V8 with 48K miles on it It has been sitting in my garage for the past 10 years. My post on this matter is in the S Type section and NBCat has answered a few of my questions, to whom I am grateful. After I get this back on the road, from what I have seen so far on this forum, I will not be quite so frightened to handle some of the basic maintenance. This is my wife's car so everything is done under close scrutiny.

I've added vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. If you want to change these, go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
