Welcome Nick,

The XJS is becoming a rare site on UK roads nowadays so let's see some photos.

Default Silly boy

Schoolboy error! Checked water levels in underground car park in Brugge Belgium yesterday....we went for lunch..did not turn the cap fully closed! At customs on way home very slow moving,I think I had been losing coolant for some time but managed to get off tunnel shuttle unaware of a problem, 10 miles into Kent And it's steam bath time, refilled as much as could then got to services, to sort out with water only.....going out to garage to drain now and refill..found all the bleed threads on here, there was one saying it will self bleed?or was that wishful thinking...1989 xjs v12. Rgds Nick.

It did but I got it going again last night and drove 60 miles more with no probs , is the bleed poit the banjo style piece on top of the rad? I have got the bottom hose off and got the coolant out and bottom hose back on, just off to go get some anti freeze and bars leaks as per owners hand book. How much would have come out from the bottom hose? All? Is it the lowest point(dumb q)? Thanks for the welcome. N

Nick,

You'll get a wider and faster response to this tech question by posting it directly on the XJS 1975-1996 section.

I recall from my short ownership of an XJ12 many years ago that bleeding the cooling system was quite a performance.
