So, I bought a Jaguar XJ-S. Four reasons: 1. V12; 2. Grand Tourer in all regards; 3. Looks; 4. Convertible.

I have a new fondness for Jaguars now. I was married in June and escorted in my father-in-laws XJ12. Afterwards, what turns up in his yard but a black '89 XJ-S convertible. He got a deal on it, and passed it to me for the same deal.

My plans are to rebuild it, ground up, with a few modifications. Fresh paint, fresh wiring and connections (a weak point, I understand), fresh engine (V12 of course, no Chev motor in this XJ-S!), and a 6-speed T-56 transmission, among many other things.

Happy to be a part of this forum, and I look forward to learning from you guys and seeing the work you put into your cars.
