Cool New XJR Owner - Maryland

Hello Everyone

Just picked up an '01 XJR about a week ago with only 49k miles and while it is in need of a few maintenance items it's still a blast. I wont bore anyone here with the spec. instead I'll just list off what as been done since I acquired it.

Oil Change
Air Filter
MB Trans Service and Flush
Thermostat and Coolant
Brake Flush
Power Steering Flush
A/C Charge
Supercharger Oil Changed - Belt and Tensioner already done
Balanced and Rotated Tires
Gen III Secondary Timing Chain Tensioners
Spark Plugs
Front Lower Ball Joints
Inner and Outer Tie Rods
Alignment
Adjusted Drivers Seat Belt - didn't retract
Replaced Leather/Wood Steering Wheel with all Leather Steering Wheel
Full Detail
Legal Tint

There's probably more but don't feel like look through the bill again. Still working on getting a few interior trim pieces and buttoning up a few odds and ends but it's coming along!

Pic when it first came home

Dude!
I only count 18 items on this list! I've only owned my Xj6 for 6 months, and within the first 60 days I had compiled a list of 52 items!

The list has now grown to no fewer than 78 items that I have adjusted, repaired, replaced or refurbished. And we haven't even got to the more *important* items like replacing the brake master cylinder (on order) or all the front suspension rubber parts (most of them now in hand).

But driving it between shop time is nothing short of Exhilarating!

Welcome to the forum Jagdude,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

That's a fairly typical list of items to be done on an X308 so you've got them all out of the way quickly!

Follow Steve's link to the X308 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I'm pretty familiar with the forum lay out and thanks to the forum I know what I should have been looking for when I went to purchase. Also, glade to see a few other marylanders on the forum. This cars been local it's whole life from what I can tell DC and MD records. Hope, there isn't too much more this old gal needs as I feel I've covered most nearly all the service/repairs I could think of and read about. However, if I missed anything major please chime in!

Hello Jagdude. Where did you get your transmission fluid flushed and changed?

This is something I need to get done. I live near Sykesville.
