Default Newbie with a Daimler 2.5

Hi from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I'm the 39-years-and-counting owner of a 1967 Daimler 2.5-litre V8 with rare manual/overdrive transmission. I bought the car when living in England in 1977. It followed me to South Africa for a few years in the mid-80s, and we've been living in Canada since 1988. The car is very solid, and had a lot of work done in the first 20 years of my ownership. Then my son was born, and somehow I never got back to it. Now the lad is away in university so I'm trying to find time to get the Daimler back on the road. Currently having some issues installing Wilwood front brake calipers, so if anybody has any wisdom to offer ...

I venture to say yours is not a common car, transmission aside, especially in Canada!
Someone will be along shortly to direct you to the correct section where you can find advice on installing those brakes.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome. There are some other 2.5 owners around here. Look in the Mk 1/ mk2 section, your answer may be there.

Welcome to the forum.

...Typo I think, you say you bought the car the year you were born.

Default Not a typo ...

... but perhaps could have been better worded. I meant to say that I've owned the car 39 years and counting! Of course I was VERY young when I bought it ...

Welcome to the forum Hemisfear,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. That's a well travelled Daimler!

I can see you've already found your way to the
MKI / MKII S type 240 340 & Daimler forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Canada Region forum by following this link Canada - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
