Newbie Here...
Hi Everyone...
My name is Scott Klein and I just purchased my first Jag a 2005 XJ8 VDP with 45K. I've been in the car business most of my life and I've been driving company demos. They recently made some changes to the demo policy and I decided to opt out and buy my own vehicle thereby taking the demo allowance.
I haven't bought my own car in over 10 years so I wasn't sure what I wanted. Being in the car business I had to rule out a brand new car (too much depreciation) so that left me wide open to the used car market. I wanted to find something that had already taken the biggest hit on depreciation (which is typically 3 years and older), but was still in good shape. Long story short I found a 2005 XJ8 VDP with 45K in West Palm Beach Florida (I live in Atlanta Ga). I paid more than book for the car (that's almost a sin being in the business), but you can pretty much throw the book away when you find a diamond.
However after getting the car last week I decided it was really too nice to drive every day as my demo (I drive about 25K a year). So I decided to buy a beater that I could drive for work, put a ton of miles on, and keep the Jag for weekends. We took in a 2010 VW CC with 67K that I can get for about $6500 plus tax.
Looking forward to connecting with you fellow Jag lovers...

Hello, Scott,
Congratulations on owning your first car in so long. And a Beauty it is too!!
You must have astonishingly strong self control, I don't think I could leave such a car in the garage and only drive in weekends. I think I would want to drive it every excuse I could come up with. Well, that's how I drive my Jaguar anyway.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
