bought this car from the junkyard.....fixed the trans....replaced battery and did and hard reset........Windows stopped working

And thats how i ended up here

I also encourage you, as per Norrie's posted links, to jump over to the S-Type/STR model specific section where there is plenty to read and absorb ... also, to visit the regional section shared by other members in your area ... and finally, to add your car details to your signature as a permanent flag to enable other members to offer accurate advice ... from Main Menu, click <User CP> then <Edit Signature>.

What a great scrapyard find! You will be delighted to learn that your windows are probably an easy fix ... and a task you will repeat any time you isolate or remove the battery. Plenty on this topic in the S-Type section. You will also be prompted to check other (especially global) functions that "forget" their memory settings when you remove battery power.

All that remains is to dive into the forum ... and enjoy!

wow....I saw this post about 5 times in the last 2weeks but i skipped it because i thought that was just a rare coincidence and mine stopped after i removed battery...........

so 12 midnight i decide what the hell,,,,, got my multimeter and checked the yellow green wire..............****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I coulda had my windows working 2 weeks ago!!!!!!!

 

windows fixed now to figure out which rear ABS sensor needs to be changed , i have to drive it with traction control OFF all the time................. Rain + no traction control is fun...but not when you forget
