Newly joined member from New Zealand
Hi, I'm Marlena (aka Marli) and I'm from the Waikato district in New Zealand. I've always had a quiet interest in Jaguar cars, but only bought my first one a couple of years back. I bought an 3.2 litre XJ40 because it was going cheap... it needed some tidying up and I soon realized I'd need access to a good priced parts supply if I wanted to keep playing the Jaguar game. Soon after I bought another 2 XJ40s for spares, and also picked up a rusty XJS, all for very little outlay. Ironically I ended up with a 3.2, a 3.6, and a 4.0... and a V12 in the XJS.
I've got the 3.2 to an almost reliable daily runner stage... and have started building a homebuilt/kit car using the 4.0 litre car as a doner... and still keeping my eyes and ears peeled for a healthy replacement body for my rusty XJS.
I also have 2 International trucks that I'd like to restore, a couple of Mitsubishi L300 vans and a Toyota Camry for daily driving to work etc. My partner has a Fraser 7 Clubman (NZ made Lotus 7 copy). I'm a seriously obsessed collector of model cars trucks, trains, and planes too, lol.
I'm a qualified diesel truck mechanic, experience heavy truck and trailer driver, but recently defected from the road transport industry and started a new job with our national railroad industry as a Mechanical Engineer in the rolling stock division (I'm a railway wagon mechanic :-) )
Looking forward to chatting with some of you in the future.
Thanx, Marlena.
