Default Ol Girl needs work

Hello all!
I have an old car for a project its a 94 Jaguar xj6
My Father in law gave up on it now its in my hands to either fix it or sell it
I dont want to give up right away
Got two codes
p0122 Throttle Position Sensor/Switch 'A' Circuit Low Input
P0177 Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Range/Performance

Does anyone know where I can start.
Thanks
Chris

Welcome to the forum Chris,

I see you've already found the XJ40 tech section with this question. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the Canada Region section by following this link Canada - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your country.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Welcome Chris.

That car is NOT old, just maturing gracefully.

When you sort that, come down here and sort my 1963 MK10. Its only done 600K miles, maybe more, the speedo dont work, has not done so for 10+ years.

Thats and OLD Jaguar. Well teh oldest I currently have anyway.

Best part is NO codes to pull, NOT a computer in sight, maybe all of 6 wires under bonnet, and points ignition, no electronics to give you grey hair. Love it.

Take your time with the diagnosis, systematically one thing at a time will sort it very quickly. The XJ40 guys will track you quickly and quietly.

Chris,
I think I've finally unravelled your tangle of threads.- well almost, I've just moved your sunroof question to X300 as well.
From the VIN it's an X300 so I've moved (shovelled more accurately) everything there.
The problem with multiple duplicate threads is that it's impossible to follow them so you lose out.
