i haven’t been active while an XJ8 owner - still have it as my wife’s commuter car. Now I will be more active since I fulfilled a long term desire - I just bought a 2015 XKR with 10k miles and 4 years CPO in LA from Galpin Jag. Danial Gonzales has the best test ride route you will find in 20 minutes near a major city.
The car is a Stratus Gray metallic with Performance, Dynamic and blacpack, so it has the XKR-S suspension, wheels, seats and “all importantly” removes the 155 mph limit.

I have had a BMW 330ci and wanted a V8 ‘vert since I live in the SF Bay Area where it is mandantory. Especially driving on a Sunday wine tasting.
i compared the used SL 550’s and E- 550 convertible along with BMW M3/4 and 335i w/ M Package. I finally found the Jag that met my specs.

I spent the first afternoon excercising the full RPM range at Angles Crest and other mountain roads between Burbank and Palmdale. Excellent roads with mid - high speeds, great visibility and no traffic on Nov 30.

As an avid sport motorcyclist with over 200 trackdays and mountain riding in CA and Europe, these roads are worth the visit- on a weekday. It is near LA after all.

if you have suggestions for care or upgrades, let me know. I will get the Bluetooth audio device first, then the remote soft top and more importantly rear windows control upgrades.
