Default S Type Jaguar davemac-2007

Hi All. I drive an S Type Jaguar for the past 6 years. It's a 3 Litre V6 with 49000 mile on the clock, now driving about 2000 miles a year and have the car sitting on my drive for most of the time. it's a lovely pearlescent green colour and usually starts first time. I am located on the Isle of Wight and am a member of the Jaguar Enthusiast's club there. Anyway was impressed by the forums and help given so thought I would join and maybe able to help others with some of the problems I have had to overcome with my car.

Dave,
I've shuffled your posts around and as a result my welcome is now before your intro, we all get things wrong!
I've put your tech question in the S Type section, you will find it here.. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...roblems-87875/

Welcome to the forum Dave,

You should know plenty about the S-Type after six years ownership. Low miles but you'll be a bit restricted for distance on the IoW!

Follow Norri's link to the S-Type section for help, advice and to post your own contributions.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Thank you both for your help. I have added my vehicle to my signature so hopefully I have done that right and it all works. Yes you are right about the island, if you go too far you just drop of the edge! I think I know a bit about the S Types now as I do repair and service my own vehicle which has worked fine up to now.

Thanks again
David

David,

Signature update looks fine.

I hear the IoW ferry is one of the World's most expensive vehicle crossings for the distance involved. Is that right?

Yes that is correct, takes about 35mins and costs can be up to £150.00? and they wonder why tourism is going down!!!

£150

Here's one more tourist lost.

You'll not be making too many trips to the mainland at that rate.

Thankfully it's only that price on special occassions, festivals etc. I get a subsidise rate living on the island, much cheeper.

For island dwellers, I admire the Scots with the Skye Bridge. The locals just refuse to pay!
