So, here we are.
It all started about a month or 2 ago. I started looking at Triumph Spitfires. My wife said, that I have always been the one to choose our weird cars, she wanted to make the selection this time. So instead of the $500 Spitfire that I was looking at, She (who must be obeyed) wanted an XJS. After looking at a few newer convertibles, we realized that neither of us can tollerate being in the sun very long, and before you know it, she found a nice looking, been in the garage too long, 1978 XJ-S that sort of ran. We trailered it home, and got it into the garage with only minor damage, and now the challenge is to make it a driver. The front brakes are seized, and I really hope the inboard rears are not. I have looked into the ignition, which has an aftermarket Crane Cams pickup, amplifer, and coil, which look OK, although I need to ut it on Jackstands to chech static timing, and probably afterward, figure out what is wrong with the fuel injection. It will be a challenge, but should result in a nice looking summer cruiser. Maybe sometimes, the wife will let me drive it!
Welcome, Dleit53; and thanks for sharing your interesting story! Congrats on the XJS and best of luck on the refurbishment. Greetings also from the Midwest region of the forum, where you will undoubtedly discover quite a number of folks from Michigan.
Best of luck, and again, welcome! Cheers,
Scott

Welcome to the forum Deleit53,
A bigger challenge than a Spitfire but much more rewarding once you have it running.
