goodday everyone. my jaguar 2003 s type v6 recently stop starting and shows steering column lock. though the ignition starts nd security light on top d dash board will off but if i insert d key d steering doesnt cranck and if i turn d key d ingnition only come on bt d car dint start nd it will write steering column lock on in d dash board. i hv tried to scan it but it doesnt bring any fault code. am pleading if any body has had dis experience should help me.

Follow Clarke's link in post #2 to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Ya see, the thing is, there are sections for specific cars, populated by members who actually drive those cars and know how to deal with their specific problems. This is the Welcome/Introduction section where members from ALL sections fall in to welcome newcomers like you. We may not drive a car like yours; I don't, and I know several others who have replied don't.

It's like you go into a repair shop and ask the receptionist to help you fix your car. S/he might drive the same car as you do (or not), but doesn't have a clue how to fix your exact issue, and it's not his/her job.

You will be directed to the Service Manager who directs you to a part of the shop able to actually address your problem.

This section is like the Reception Desk. We also happen to have a couple Service Managers here who have given you directions to the correct section of the shop where they actually know your car. Clarke has already posted a link where you can ask your question and it will be answered as soon as someone is able to help you.

Also bear in mind these forums are international and deal with 24 different time zones; it's always night somewhere. Members volunteer their time and expertise, but also have lives, families and jobs to attend, they don't have to do this.

You may not get an Immediate answer, but if you ask in the correct section, you Will get an answer.
