Default Stromberg Carburator small metal tubes.

1969 xke. aquired after sitting for 20+ years.

when i drove it around for a couple of weeks it drove fine. since then I had the twin strombergs rebuilt. But as before I noticed two small metal tubes on the right side carb. Anyone know what they go to?

Welcome to teh Forums.

The E Type Tech Section is the place for those answers.

One would be the vac advance for the Ignition System.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forum Ramrod,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I agree with Grant - the tube is for a vacuum advance pipe.

Welcome. The second nipple may be for a connection to the vacuum modulator on automatic transmission, which was the practice back in the day on some cars. It may not be applicable to your application and would need to be plugged.

Perhaps the knowledgeable folks on the E-type forum can shed more light on this...
