Default Sydney 3.8S

I have had a 3.8S for 34 years and took it off the road about 20 years ago with the thought of restoring it. Now, 20 years later my 23 year old son has got on my back and said I should do something with the Jag. So as a first step I cleaned up the garage on the weekend and took all of the stuff covering the Jag off it.

Now as a second step I have joined this forum sot that I might be able to get some help and advice with my restoration project.

Thanks for the welcome Norri, I am sure as I progress through the restoration process I will be asking quite a few questions. As you correctly observe, I have been doing a lot of thinking over the last 20 years (and a little work and parts collection as well).

Hi Graham,

Thanks very much for the welcome.

I actually started work on the "S" last weekend. Pulled the master cylinder, pedal box and right hand bonnet hinge off to see if the XJ6 booster and master cylinder would fit. It looks like with a bit of cutting and fiddeling and moving the windscreen wiper motor I should be able to fit the new brake assemble. Then I got this offer of a 90L sub-tank for my 4WD that I had to hare off and get that so my priorities and loyalties keep getting challenged.

But at this stage the "S" comes first, the sub tank will have to wait for fitment for a while.

Cheers,

Baz
