Texada Time
Hi , just a quick intro note. I have been asked to participate in the re-assembly of a 1950 Jaguar Mk V Drophead Coupe. The entire vehicle is present as it was dis-assembled by the owners husband who passed away prior to re-assembly. This is a 3.5 litre model. The car is in decent shape other than the body ,which took a good hit from the rear, this was 'fixed' by someone. This accident and the 'repair' occurred prior to the present owners acquiring of the car in 1965. The body is also in bad shape rust-wise. The sheet metal has been sandblasted , and resembles perforated metal in some areas. I will be handling the mechanical re-assembly , and paint work.
I hope to be able to draw upon the resources here when I have some questions.
Thank you ,Steve

Welcome to the forum Steve,
Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums.
The Mark V is a rare vehicle now and the drop head even more so as there were few made in that style. Many members will be interested to see photos. Has it possibly had a replacement engine at some time? I thought the originals were fitted with a six cylinder 2633 cc.
Follow this link Mark V - X 420G - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the MK V - MK X section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the Canada Region section by following this link Canada - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your country.
Good luck with the project and enjoy the forum.
