Default Thank you to the group.

Hello all,
Thanks for allowing me to join and access the group. Recently purchased my first Jaguar after decades of wanting one. It’s a black 2004 S-type 4.2 V8 with 136K miles. So far it is a match made in heaven. The previous owner did a very good job of keeping the car in cosmetically good shape but was not mechanically (or financially) inclined. Luckily my experience is the opposite and have been able to tune it back into fighting shape in the past few weeks. Was able to remove the intake manifold (plenum) and replace all the upper and lower intake gaskets, replaced the oil pan gasket, replaced the transmission pan/filter and replace the fluid and address some minor intake, vacuum leaks and clean and test the fuel injectors. The forum has already saved me a ton of money in labor from the dealership and in parts. Hope to continue learning more and maybe help someone else with my experiences. Thanks again. Welcome to the forum Playbackpat,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. You have been busy with that to-do list.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the S-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
