Default V12 E-type gearbox, alleged problem.

Hi all!

I have a '72 series three V12 E-Type roadster, bought in '74.
It has been sitting for twenty years and I am having it recommissioned.
I have never had a problem with the manual gearbox but I am told that a common fault is the third gear 'popping out' and the box can be modified to eliminate this.
Does any member have any knowledge of this alleged problem?
The car has covered a mere 31k statute miles.

Many thanks
Paul Buckley, Cheshire, England.

Hi LnrB
Well, it was force of circumstances combined with moving house, twice, and building the third one myself. Also built a two story, four car, garage to house my 'bits' and give me workshop space. Just don't know where the time goes ..............
Ciao
Paul
