Please accept my apologies-I jumped to my issue without so much as an introduction. I'm a brand new owner of a1997 XK8 with 70,000 miles, but have played with British mechanical stuff most of my adult life. As the name suggests, I'm principally a British motorcycle guy who comes equipped with Whitworth tools. I'm sure that the "older" crowd knows about those. I'm currently restoring two 50's era Mercedes cars and also play with BMW and Italian motorcycles. I've formed the opinion that different nationalities have very distinct mechanical peculiarities. As much as I have cursed the Brits over the years, they still remain my favorites. I look forward to learning from you good folks and if I can ever be of help, I will be at your disposal.
