Default Who knew old Jags were so cheap?

While shopping for a replacement vehicle for the truck my son wrecked, I landed on some old Jaguars. Always loved Jags, never thought I would be fool enough to buy one. Wife is driving my new 4 runner, son is now driving her old mini van.

Purchased an 1996 X300 in black, in mostly good order, rear suspension was shot. Spent several days replacing said suspension, most of the time waiting for replacement lower bolts which had to be surgically removed. Thanks to this forum have also replaced the nonexistent radiator and AC condenser bushes. Have many other little gremlins to sort out.

Forum has been a great source of necessary info and enjoyable light reading. See you around.

Caution is advisable but for a hobbyist/DIYer willing to put out the effort a used Jag is often a real bargain. You can get a lot of car for small money. Many of us worry that this little secret will get out and the prices will go up !

Cheers

Welcome to the forum! I'm just recently purchased my first Jaguar as well, which is also a 1996 x300! However mine is a metallic blue. This forum has been the best resource by far in getting my car road ready.

Default Nice to meet you

Hi welcome. I too was surprised at the low price tag, but blown away by the high repair costs. We have spent 10 times what we spent, repairing my son's. We are not done.
