Default XE S vs F-Type?

Great to finally join this forum. So, small intro: I'm actually an ex-owner of a Jag (wait for it...) looking to buy another Jag.
After spending about 8 years in the UK, I've moved to Russia for work-related reasons. By the way, owning a Jag here is quite something, as they are underrepresented and quite expensive to own due to high servicing costs. Either way, we all know how much fun these cars give us, so it's well worth it.

So, I've owned a 2016 XE S for 1 year (I was the second owner). The car was just wonderful- had pretty much a top notch spec (British Racing Green, panoramic roof, heated and ventilated seats, etc.). My only gripe with it was that it was a bit of a pain in winter, as we get tons of snow here. The car would not handle too well and I was forced to drive with ESC off for 3 months. Not too much of a problem, but not great either.

So, let me start from the end: I regret selling it. That car was just fantastic, so emotional, beautiful and engaging.

I have purchased a 2019 Audi A5 (2.0 TFSI, Revo stage 1) as a replacement but have found that I am not enjoying it too much. It makes sense, since I bought it because of great build quality, AWD and an amazing sound system. Even after chip tuning it at REVO (249 bhp ---> 320 bhp) and achieving 4.6 second 0-100 km/h, I still can't say that I enjoy the car.

So, I'm looking at just a few cars as a replacement, two of which are Jaguars (the 3rd is BMW M2).

1. Buying my XE S back. That car was legendary, but buying it back and losing quite a lot of my current car's value (I would have to sell it) sounds quite ridiculous...
2. Buying an F-Type.

If I were to go for an F-Type, I would choose the F-Type S or F-Type "400 Sport". I would avoid the "R" for financial reasons (they are overly expensive to own here).

What do you guys think? Has anyone driven both the XE S and the F-Type?
To put it short: is it worth giving up space found in the XE S and similar saloons for the F-Type's handling and engagement?

Welcome to the forums Vit,

I've driven both but not sufficiently to be able to give an informed comparison as alternatives. Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ to the F-Type forum for help, advice and information. Some members there are likely to own both together.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
