Default Xjs h&e

Hello!

I've been the owner of an '88 XJS H&E for over a decade now. I first became familiar with the XJ as a kid, as my dad was one of the H&E engineers who designed the convertible conversion for Jaguar.

I have an unusual set of rims on my vehicle... They are flat and chromed, with a jaguar emblem on them. The chrome is getting rather pitted, and I'd like to have them replaced with the starfish rims... where is a good place to start looking?

Cheers,

- Will

Welcome aboard, Will.

I *think* your wheels are from an XJR-S. If I'm right (might not be) they might be worth some money.

Anyhow...

I was on Ebay the other day and found lots of people selling Starfish alloys. You should have no problem getting a set.

Cheers

Welcome Will,

That's a beautiful rim. You're not considering refurbishment?

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
Ebay is probably the place to start.

If you haven't already done so you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

I have, but the alloy underneath is starting to pit as well...

I wonder if a good chrome shop could work with it... Any suggestions?

Cheers,

- Will

Will,

Specialist alloy wheel refurbishers should be able to remove the pitting, replace with sound metal, polish and rechrome.

Start a thread on General Tech Help section asking for recommended specialists in FL.

Thanks for the help guys.

Bought a used starfish set on Ebay, price for the lot was cheaper than a refurbishing a single rim!

I'll probably save my nickels and get the current ones refurbished at some point in the future.

Cheers,

Will
