Now then fella!
We could always start our own f there is not one? But we would only end up in the pub no doubt!! (Just in case you have not worked out who I am yet?)
There are some Jaguar owners in the local Car Club that I am in so will ask them about it.
Will be in Judge on Friday afternoon if you are passing??
Cheers

I hope, over summer, to drive my wife and my X358 from Auckland to Cape Reinga and back.
It would be awesome to catch up with some fellow Jag enthusiasts, no matter which model, so I'll contact you before my drive if I may.

No I haven't. Forget the Jag, what pub do you 'own' for tall stories ??? :-))
Cheers, Chris

Hi both of you. I have contacted one of our members who lives in Whangarei and he has come back with this;
The President is Kevin Wing Phone 09 4329028 or Mob. 027 5744972 email wingie@xtra.co.nz http://www.sporty.co.nz/classiccarsnorthland
The member is Colin Wordsworth he owns an XK and E type and can be contacted on 09 4302975 Mob 0226008969 or email wordies@xtra.co.nz
This is not a dedicated Jaguar club but if Colin is happy then I feel they would be a good group.
Cheers Robin

Chris not sure if you have considered joining the Auckland club? We are fairly active and always looking for new members. We produce a bi monthly full colour magazine which is worth the subscription but also have a good scheme with an insurance company that ‘may’ have better rates than your current one (no guarantee)

Thanks again, Chris
(I mostly remember getting about 30mpg out of my 3.8 S-Type on a Jaguar Drivers Club economy run, although going downhill with the engine off and brakes a taboo was a bit hairy...)

This is an older topic but I'm a fairly new member to the Jaguar owners forum. I've got a 2003 Jaguar XKR, NZ new, really low mileage. I live in Whangarei and would be interested in meeting up with fellow Jag owners (not right now of course, we/ve gone into solitary confinement for the next 4 weeks at least but once the world returns to some sort of normality). I'm a member of the Classic and Sports Car club Northland and know Colin and Kevin reasonably well. My XKR is off the road at present, taking the opportunity to do some work on it - replace the brake light switch, skim brakes, fit a free flow exhaust. But once all that work is done (and it sounds like a V8) I'll be out and about again.
I've also got a 2012 Mazda RX8 Spirit R that goes out occasionally (only got 14,500km on it).
Anyway if you see a red X100 XKR out there smile and wave
Mike

Hone won't let us!
Expect to be stopped: Hone Harawira is on a mission to protect Tai Tokerau from unvaccinated Aucklanders | Stuff.co.nz
For the uninformed, "regionalism" is alive and well in New Zealand. For example they have a point in Northland that not many are vaccinated so they need to be protected from Aucklanders. The other side of course is why the EFF don't they get vaccinated.
For the record, my car is vaccinated. By the Warrant-of-Fitness people. Though it could still break down at any time.
(I see I was threatening to visit Cape Reinga well before covid, and never got a round tuit. At the moment, with covid, I'm reluctant to travel too far)
Edit: Just to make my position clear, Hone is railing against ALL Aucklanders (the main entry point to the country). If he's so worried about "Aucklanders" and "low vaccination in Northland", he should get his Fat Maori Cousins off their collective asses and get them vaccinated! Rather than shut down the entire Northland economy. Anyway, I've no desire to travel anywhere I'm not welcome. This weekend I visited Waikato (Hobbiton), the opposite direction, so Hone can suck on whatever tourist dollars his whanau (family) have left. Touring in the XJ was awesome for 300km or so! And the $300 for a night, my wife didn't like the food but never mind she liked our car.
*And in spite of what else you might read in these forums, it never broke down not even once!
