Try doing a hard ECU reset, and scan it again if you get the restricted light.

How did you check? Which OBD device? Which software?

Go to your local Autozone, PepBoys or Sears and get the codes. Write them down and then tell us what codes you have.

Hard to say without the codes. Did this occur just after a fill-up? If it did check your gas cap!

Some faults will put the light on but not store a code in the PCM until they keep happening. Any pending codes? Also, do you have P1000 or P1111?

Were those tools WITH Jag-specific extras or just generic?

With so many codes I'd say #1 suspect by far is battery. Next is alternator (not cheap & rarely fail) or wiring (much cheaper to check).

Did you look the meaning of these up... BIGGEST hint it is the battery is when there are a bunch of codes that don't make sense..IE the car drives just fine yet you have codes related to miss fires / trans issues / and so on..

If you put in the right hefty battery it shouldn't have failed so I guess start looking all over the car for wiring issues / test the alternator / etc. Or it's the battery. Try handbook for what you asked

Is the car running now and do you experience any problems? If no problems I would reset all your codes (now that they are documented) and see what comes up. I would check the battery connections to be sure they are clean and ok. All the Jaguars suffer from a slight to severe case of Poltergeist mostly caused by poor electrical connections. If the car gives you any indication of a problem then you will need to investigate. Until then sit back and enjoy the ride.

I would check the fuse on the S/C intercooler pump. Same thing happen to me on my xkr--no codes thrown but would go into RP after sustained load on the S/C. Found out my I/C pump was broken. Good Luck.
