Default 2.7L diesel transmission used. How can i get one from the UK

I'm looking to see how much a used manual transmission is for a 2.7L and how I can get it to the states.

Which engine to use it with?

Just contact scrap yards - there are online forms.

Will be rare as almost no-one wanted such a crazy combination (forever changing gear else forever in the wrong one).

Wait for the odd owner of this mix to argue...

I have information from a very good source that the manual gear box in the 2.7L diesel will bolt up to the 4.2L as well as carry the torque load that the motor produces. I'm just sorting this out at the moment. So I'm looking to price out the transmission, drive shaft, pedal box, and cross member.

I'd imagine the gearing would totally suck for the gasser...

I would imagine that the mechanical bits and pieces from auto to manual would be about 1% of the total effort required to make this conversion a success. No different than the engine swap in the other post, the electronic side of things would be a show stopper.

Such things were RELATIVELY easy in pre computer-controlled days, not at all easy now.

I think OP has intention of ditching most of the electronics and going with a standalone ECU to control things... but again, integration of all the S-Type's subsystem is such that you will likely lose functionality in many other areas...

I get the same impression, but not one in a thousand car geeks would have the know-how to do this either.

The OP needs to get rid of his Jaguar in favor of a more "mod-friendly" vehicle or just drive the damn thing.
