Default 2000 S-Type front end shake starting

Consistent light vibration while driving, not major at all and does not increase while turning or anything. Also, occasionally when starting from a parked spot, there will be a quick front end shake. 51,000 miles. Any ideas?

+1 on one or more intermittent misfiring coils.

Thanks for the reply. What parts need replacing?

Depends upon what's wrong. First things first - get the OBDII codes read to confirm misfires. Where are you in North Carolina?

Yes. Winston / Gboro area. Seems odd that a misfire would cause the steering wheel/front end shake. I would have thought suspension related. if it is not giving error messages, will it still reveal codes?

You'll usually get a check engine light. Either coil on plug is going out, or, spark plug is worn (too wide a gap from wear) or carbon/oil fouled.

If you see it in a steering wheel that is oscillating, it could be wheel or tire related (no mention if the car is in Park, or driving).

Tires? Maybe a bearing? I would check tires first because some of them go square when they sit or the lugs loosen, etc.
