Question 2001 S-type interior rearview mirror

Doe anyone know if there is a fuse that controls this electronic mirror? My mirror does not dim nor does the compass work. My owners manual does not show a fuse numeral or location to check power. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks, Jagbreeder. I found the 5amp fuse, it was blown. A little crazy though, it did not show like a typical fuse (burnt). The lower right hand corner where the filament would connect to the fuse post was gone. It took a magnifying glass to detect the minature gap. Replaced the fuse, mirror came up, now all thats left is to recalibrate for zone 8. I owe you lunch for the help. Thanks immensely.

P.S. - I have another thread posted concerning an exterior mirror motor. All functions but the downward tilting work. Is it possible to replace just the mirror motor or does it require another mirror assembly. You hit the first thread right on the mark. Got any advice on the last issue?

is the down option working on the driver side? my driver side had that problem. i think the best thing to do is to check in with salvage yards around the city and see if they have your make and model and tell them you want the whole assy my opinion it will be cheaper and plus you'll have extra mirror parts for your car or you can always sell them for a good price hope this can help if not contact me and we can work on something to get your cat back in the wild in style

The downward tilting feature works on the driver's side. The reason that I asked about the mirror motor option versus a whole assembly was based upon past experience with another vehicle. I was able to replace the mirror motor a little less expensive than a complete assembly. However, being new to the Jaguar repair world I was interested to see if more experienced owners had an economical solution. I will begin searching for a complete assembly based on your advice. Do you think swapping a complete assembly versus a mirror motor is a faster repair time wise?

My opinion yes because you just take the door panel off and loosing up the bolts plug in and bolt back up but if you find a motor Cheaper go for it I'm all about saving
