Default 2003 s type abs and dsc fault

coming home on turnpike drive over rumble strip at prescribed speed at the tool booth, abs and dsc lights immediateily came on and got abs fault and dsc not available in the dash display, cruise control was then disabled. after parking at home, and restarting, the dsc light went out but still have the abs fault. what can I do to clear it? havent tried it this morning yet, can I trust the
autozone or o'riley readers to celar it? or can they?

A dying battery is always the first suspicion in these cases. How old is yours?

Could be a bad connection, whether battery or ABS, or a genuine ABS problem - which could be rust on the sensor rings, a loose ABS sensor - or even a failing wheel bearing.

Anyone with a jag-specific tool could read the codes in the ABS module if you want to know what it detected. Its light will self-clear above some lowish speed (10mph?) if all is now OK.

+1 on JagV8's advice on getting the codes scanned. You will need a Jaguar specific code reader to get any abs/dsc related code(s) - A normal OBDII reader will not do the trick - good luck. When you get the code(s) research the forum - otherwise post them and we'll steer you in the right direction.

Default faults are gone

The abs fault is no longer displaying in the dash, I am satisfied that the
speed bumps on the turnpike set it off, and it reset after driven the next morning......
Thanks for the replys

That's good for now... if you do get the abs/dsc fault coming back (probally will - don't take offense) post the codes - you could indeed have a loose connection or loose solder joint within the abs controller as pointed out above.

Hoping you never get the dreadded abs/dsc fault... just my $0.02
