I have a 1to 2 second beeping sound when I open the doors and again when I put the key in the ignition. I do not know what the warning is for and cannot digest the problem in the owners manual. Any help??

thanks in advance

For a day or two prior to the failure of the Electric Park Brake module in my 2005 S-Type 3.0 in April 2015, the car would beep several times upon key insertion into the ignition switch (but not when opening the doors). Perhaps your EPB module is also on its way to giving up the ghost....

My car has always beeped 8-10 times first thing in the morning. It has always stopped so I've never investigated it further. It's only first thing in the morning and never after that, unless I've parked close to something, then the parking sensor lets me know about it.

+1 on EPB
I got rapid beeping noises coming from the dashboard area when my parking brake failed. They seemed to be triggered by opening a door or inserting the key in the ignition. The message center said something like "park brake failure".

Try this: Turn the key to the "on" position, but don't start the car. Then pull up and push down on the parking brake handle a few times. It helps if your windows are up and the car is quiet as possible inside. Listen closely for the parking brake activating/deactivating as you pull up/push down on the handle. If you hear nothing, or it is really noisy (mine made a crunching noise), most likely your parking brake has failed. And that is most likely the source of those beeps you're hearing.

If your parking brake is working normally, then perhaps those beeps mean something else in your case, and maybe another forum member will chime in with some help. Good luck.

Let me correct that, I paid closer attention when driving home from work in the afternoon and I discovered that it beeped the same way then as it does in the morning.

So I'm confused. But it always stops so I don't worry about it.

Are you certain your EPB is working correctly?

Maybe you're getting a text message on your phone, just a suggestion.
