Wow, definitely a couple thousand under market price. I think that is a $10K car all day long, but that's just me. Undesirable color/interior combo, but based on the pictures it looks solid. Looks like it needs new rotors/pads.

Carfax it, I am interested if we are missing thing. Thanks for sharing!

might be the seller making a mistake selling it with no reserve. I have to disagree on the color combo, I think it is very classy and attractive! its also very neutral so it would sell well as a dealer.

Color combo not the most desirable, but the touch screen navi is a plus.

The high mileage definitely scares away most buyers, and the price reflects that.
Although the car looks immaculate, it takes one niggling issue the seller, who picked it up at auction hasn't even noticed himself, that turns out to be an expensive repair easily pushing the price up.

A decent deal to whomever snatched it up at $8,201, no doubt.

Depressing as hell if you already own one.

Then again ... it does have 100K more miles than mine does so the longevity is encouraging!

Sorry but I wouldn't pay that either. 5 grand tops for that car, and its a throw away job. Literally put no money into it other than oil changes and brakes. When something breaks, just throw it out because putting a trans or a motor in it is obviously not worth it!

I was a little taken back by the price too, as my beloved 03 STR must not even be worth her weight in scrap metal at this point... :-(

But if you take a close look at the pictures, pay particular attention to the headlights on the front... The drivers side looks like a nice shiney new housing while the passengers side... It looks pretty sad, yellowed and faded...

Me thinks someone cracked it up and she has been patched back together and auctioned...

Possibly ... but it also could be that a headlamp broke. They do do that you know .... LOL

Maybe they don't know about the 25 cent screw fix? They should have polished the other head lamp ...

It really doesn't look all that awful but @ 135K miles you have to expect some trouble soon unless a bunch has already been done to it.

Honestly,

From the dealer perspective, that car sold HIGH. I can get you cars with less miles for that price, but with triple digit miles. He owned that car for 6000-6500 tops.

A BEAUTIFUL 05 BRG/Oatmeal 05 STR, perfect condition report, carfax, no paintwork etc with 63k miles sold for 13,500 at the manheim PA highline sale yesterday. It's not just the high miles ones that have taken a dive. And that was ALL the money on that car.

Average ones with 70-80k miles are in the 10k range at the wholesale level. Pre facelift cars are cheaper.

Take care,

George

Hey George:

A little off subject but you seem to be really tied into the used car market.

I am interested in an XFR but only the 5.0 versions. What would you recommend price wise as current values??

I'm a used car broker / dealer. I can get you whatever you want at wholesale. I've gotten several people on the forum their cars. PM me or email me for details / info.

Take care,

George
