accelerator pedal position sensor for sale?
2000 S Type 4.0 litre. Looking for a pedal position sensor. The mechanic says that it cannot be repaired. Jaguar is asking over three hundred Canadian. Used one will cost over two hundred fifty. Is there something out there for less than these estimates?

There was a Service Action for the X200 PPS (probably a PARTS BULLETIN) that applied to 'Creaking-Pedals' in the early 2000s.
I have several New Old Stock PPS units for X200 (2000-2002MY) that were superseded because the early throttle pedals had a tendency to 'creak'. These were discarded as old part numbers but still function.
The parts are still in original boxes somewhere in my 'hoarding-pile' in a building I have for storing old parts.
I will see if I can find them.
PM me if you want me to dig them out of 'hiding'.

Hello Bob,
I don't want to put you to a lot of trouble but would appreciate an alternative to what I am seeing so far.
I did see a video showing the removal and dismantling of the sensor and am considering that. The videographer found one of the three 'brushes' inside the sensor was twisted and he straightened it out. But that was on a 2004 Jag. I can't ask a mechanic to do that however because it would be too expensive. It would be something I could do later if I could get him to simply replace the unit.

I think I have sent the funds to you. The PM section of this website sends confusing messages back to me. If you did not get the money, let me know.

I just drove to the annual "Brits on the Beach" old English car show in Ladysmith, British Columbia, a round trip of about a hundred and fifty miles and all continues to go well. I am very happy with the pedal that Bob sent me and very happy with my membership in Jaguar Forums.
I have also received a lot of support and encouragement from Ducmon with my ongoing CATS fault.
