Default Air Induction Service

Servicing the 3.0 V6 Air Induction System turned out to be fairly easy. Apologize in advance for dodgey picture quality.

Tools Needed

Flat Tip Screwdriver
Torx Bit Screwdriver

Materials Needed

Air Cleaner
Throttle Body Cleaner

1. Pull out engine oil breather tube from air cleaner tube.

2. Remove the MAF Sensor from air cleaner tube using Torx Bit screwdriver. First picture shows the MAF Sensor and engine oil breather tube removed. You can spray a bit of the Throttle Body Cleaner on the MAF Sensor.

3. Remove air cleaner tube using a flat tip screwdriver.

4. After the air cleaner tube is removed you can open up the air cleaner box by popping open the outer two snaps and lifting up the top. This makes replacing the air cleaner much easier. See second picture.

5. The throttle body can be cleaned by spraying throttle body cleaner on the body as well as the butterfly. See third picture. You may need to keep the butterfly open with a screwdriver once you open it up with your fingers in order to spray the inside of the throttle body. You can clean up the bits with a rag or paper towels.

6. Once you performed what you wanted simply put it all back together.

7. Fire up the engine to make sure everything is OK. The engine will sputter a bit to clean out the throttle body cleaner fluid.

Good luck,

Mike

uhm I DO NOT recommend throttle body cleaner on the mass air flow, theres a special mafs cleaner that wont take the coating off the sensor. You might be fine with what you used Mike but not all throttle cleaners aka carb cleaners are the same. otherwise good writeup
