MAKE, MODEL, YEAR?

Lots of MY changes to X200/X202 cars over the years.
TSBs are VIN specific.

Jaguar issued a few TSBs for the X202 (MY2002.5) but I don't see anything for the early cars about unresponsive transmitter signal.

How long are you leaving it?

I know the later cars shut off the car's receiver to save power but it's after 7 or 14 days or some such.

Default Alarm....S type

For what it's worth, my '05 S type R suffered from similar alarm issues. Fob worked fine but after approximately 15-20 minutes, if you tried to open the locked door you had to use the key and the alarm went off. Gave up and disconnected horn....at least not so embarrassing. New batteries and later fob not the answer. Researched driver's door module failure issues via the forum....a common issue on S types. Purchasing a used...same year, same model etc. module not the answer. Removed module and discovered several pins on the module's multi-pin wiring loom connector were badly corroded...one even broken off! A little delicate soldering repair and the entire system worked like new after apparently being on the fritz for some time according to previous owner. Might be worth checking.

That sounds like a good possibility as it’s a 2001 car so I’ll give it a go and get back to you
thanks for the help

Glad you got to the bottom of the problem. And what a cheap fix!

Great find! Who'd have thought this would cause an alarm problem?

Anything special prompt you to check this particular fuse? Or were you just checking them all one by one?

I just checked that fuse because both mirrors didn’t operate and F7 is marked up as passenger mirror so as the drivers mirror is fed through the door module when that worked aswell as passenger mirror I thought it could be linked somehow and it was

I guess we can learn from this. Whenever we have an electrical problem, check all the fuses first.
