AM Radio problem
In my Jaguar the frequency between reception is 9 rather than the standard American 10... i.e. 612, 621, 630, 639... As you know the reception for these should be 610, 620, 630, 640.
Is there anyway i can change this?

A little googling and we have this:
"In the Americas (ITU region 2) 10 kHz spacing is used; elsewhere it is 9 kHz. ITU region 2 also authorizes the Extended AM broadcast band between 1610 kHz and 1710 kHz. Medium wave is by far the most heavily used band for commercial broadcasting. This is the "AM radio" that most people are familiar with."
So your radio is working correctly for somewhere else. Whether it can be reprogrammed for 10 kHz spacing is probably a dealer question. (My guess is the first person you ask will look confused.) Did your radio always do this or is it a new development?
Back in the boombox portable stereo days, those who bought radios in far away places often got the same surprise when they returned home. I spent many years working in radio broadcast management and once had a phone call telling me that my station was not on the "right" frequency because of his imported radio.

It has been this way since i purchased the car 3 years ago. I have always just dealt with it but i'm on a mission to solve this issue. The nearest Jaguar dealer is over an hour away from me. I tried calling them up and the employee had no idea what i was talking about. I'm guessing there has to be a way to switch it back.
Well, maybe there's a way to reprogram the AM radio. Or maybe not.
The Jaguar EPC software lists completely different radio part numbers for individual countries and regions.
Do you know if your car was originally delivered for the US market? And never modified for use in some other country?

It has always been in America and highly doubt it would have ever been modified for use in another country

I don't know what radio head unit you have but it needs to be set to US and not Japan or Europe or Australia etc.
If you post more info you will get more info.

2003 Jaguar S-Type 3.0 liter V6 70,000 miles. What else do you gentlemen need to know? I have no information on my radio other than the serial number that is listed on the "security radio code" card.
Do you have Navigation or not?
For a non-Nav system, hold down the Eject button (tape or cd) and the AM/FM buttons at the same time, this will bring up the setup menu. Choose Preset #0 you can select US or UK - I am betting yours says UK right now, since UK does use the odd number settings and US uses even. Change it to US.
For a Nav system, pretty sure you hold down the same buttons and get a similar menu, likely with more location choices like JP or AU, but you should be able to figure out the settings once you are in the menu.
Note that changing the location will erase your preset stations, so you'll have to reset them.

Hmm... do you or do you not have the built in factory navigation? I am guessing you do not. If you do, let me know and I will go run through my 2003 STR's menu and see what happens.
So did you change any of the settings while you were in there - specifically #1? Did you try to press the 0 preset multiple times or hold it down?
I definitely think this is your issue, the more details you can provide the better.
EDIT: I believe you also have a limited amount of time to input your selections after you get into the menus before it reverts back out. Maybe 10 or 15 seconds max.

OK - well that is no good. At this point you might have to bite the bullet and take it in for the dealer to check. Normally switching country codes will correct the problem, but your headunit does not appear to want to play ball at all.
