Any glutton for punishment? Another LS 2000 S-type Conversion
I heard back from the seller and I'm not going to comment on whether this is a valid product/offer, but in the most basic sense he wasn't saying the right things when asked. He was evasive about how he interfaces with the car- even as simply as a question as to what gauges and systems work and what don't, etc.,.
I'm into this space and have an idea of what the general technical capabilities are out there. No one has cracked the Stype CAN code that I know of- and I get calls about this from time to time (from customers). Don't get me wrong- this is indeed a problem that can be solved, but it takes a major investment ($$) in a CAN software engineer's time, not to mention the cost of some hardware to put the solution to work in the car. I'm not getting the feeling this seller has done that. Most resellers and shops that have a product to be proud of are also very proud to tell you about it. This does not appear to be the case here which for me is a red flag.....

This is Andrew from Jaguar Specialties and I was reading this thread with great interest. Some of you may not be familiar with the GM engines but to me, what was so interesting here about the Ebay listing is the car is described as a 6.0L LS build. The LS series engines were a clean sheet V8 design that debuted as all-aluminum in 1997 for the Corvette (5.7L), then 1998 for the Camaro (also 5.7L), and then with a cast iron block version for the 1999 and later GMC/Chevy trucks (4.8-5.3-6.0L versions). That's all good info, but the kicker here is the engine shown in the Ebay listing car is an LT1, not an LS. The LT1 is the last version of the Chevy small block, built from 1993-1997. It is definitely not an LS- does not share 1 screw with the LS engines. I sent a note to the seller to see if maybe he had the wrong pic in the listing, or ????
We'll see what he says...

Should have asked him if he mistakenly placed a "4" in the $41,895.00.
My $.02, The only money this guy is going get is from the crusher for scrap value. Basically anyone just looking at the pictures and as mentioned above very little about said "conversion" wouldn't touch that thing with a ten foot pole and both hands....

I think as many of us a possible should send him questions about the swap and overwhelm him so he will pull down the listing. We don't want some poor sap buying the car for $40+k - There are suckers out there.
OMG! Something I just realized! The image of the engine compartment shown with the "LS" engine IS NOT the engine compartment of the 2000 S-type car shown in the ad!
The ABS module is on the wrong side, and the body color is white!, The strut towers are different.
The joker selling the car must be only trying to drum up business/interest for an engine swap and likely hasn't even started a swap on the car shown.

Good catch! Also would the 4L60E work with the J-Gate?

If you check he has been buying most of the time rather than selling
