A code that is P0332 or P0333 would be an indication of the LH (left hand) knock sensor which is located under the intake manifold, best to ask dealer which one they are replacing.

Also if they pull the intake are they going to replace the 6 upper intake gaskets? One other thing you should inquire about are the IMT O-rings, they are located in the manifold and are a known problem that should be replaced as well as long as the intake is off.

Ok, well i know for sure it's p0328 so if that's the rh then no intake manifold removal. It's not a jaguar dealer i'm at so i kinda have to guide them. Aftermarket knock sensor ok, or should i pay the premium for one from the dealer?

Thanks

Man $485.00 thats a chunk of change, a Jaguar dealer is probably that. Does your shop normally work on Jaguars?

It's not a jag dealer, its actually a toyota dealer. $485 wouldn't have been my final price cuz my friend is the service manager there and usually cuts the price by 20% for me. I take it there for basic stuff. Any serious jag problems i take it to another place that specializes in imports. No more jag dealerships for me. They said it was a 3 1/2 hour job to replace the top knock sensor removing intake manifold and replacing the gaskets. I confirmed your findings of the lower knock sensor with the other place i go to telling him i was doing it myself. So i told the toyota dealership to just replace the bottom one. My guess is that they didn't know which one it was so they were going to do both. I will let my buddy who is the service manager what happened cuz that would have been over a $300 mistake. I'll probably just stick to just brakes from these guys from now on.
