Hello I’m new to this site. Have owned this Jag for about 3 weeks was my grandfathers he passed ended up buying from his wife. But anyway was driving today and the Air Bag light came on that Indicated airbags are disabled took it to Check the code out and come back with a ton of codes and an explanation could be a tell tell sign of the computer on the way out.

Not likely to be any of the computers.

If you plan to DIY get an OBD tool with live data e.g. elm327.

Ignore all but the P codes to start with. Plenty of threads about them to read up on.

Well thankyou! Guy at Mavis made me a bit nervous that it could be a sign of computer failure...I just don’t understand why it would be giving all those codes when checked. No check engine light on. Only the Air bag light. No noticeable issues. I will check out that forums a bit more

+1 on this advice.

How much have you driven the car? By chance did it sit a long time before you purchased it? These cars are very sensitive to battery condition. Even if the starter cranking speed seems normal, the battery may have trouble properly powering up all the various modules. That can cause all sorts of extraneous faults.

At the very least, I'd put the battery on an automatic charger overnight. Don't use a trickle charger, but instead something with a charge rate of at least 10 amps. And if there's any question about the battery, such as age or having sat uncharged for a while, I'd suggest springing for a new one before worrying too much.

BTW, welcome to the forum and sorry to hear the sad news about your grandfather.

Well thank you for your condolences. That’s very nice. And yes the car did sit for periods of time without being driven...I had all those codes cleared out and afterward the airbag light came back on. So looking further into today to see if I can pinpoint why. My neighbor who was a dealership mechanic and has the tool for the codes is checking it out today. Thanks for your feedback!

If he can provide the codes (like C1234) the jag docs with all their known causes are on here and on JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

Add the vehicle details to your signature so everyone looking at the post knows the MY and engine size.

+1 on replacing the battery first before chasing phantom DTCs that may or may not really exist.
