Default Cooling System Hose Configuration ?

The cooling hoses on my 2001 S-Type have (connections) have rotted out. I replaced the upper radiator hose components but cannot find a diagram that shows the coolant reservoir hose connects and the hose that comes off the upper radiator hose. Its looks like there are 3 hoses that come into one connection. Does anyone have a picture or schematic I could look at. Thanks

Hey Motivated,

Welcome to the forum...
Update your post to reflect whether you have the V6 or the V8 or the "R" and I suspect the replies will start flooding in. Search for posts by JagV8 and his signature has instructions for putting that info in your sig. line. Also, search the stype forum for "Radiator" and I think you'll find what you are looking for. Sorry not to just shoot you a link but I've piddled too much time away here last night and this morning anyway....because it is more pleasant than working on my Exc....good luck

Here is a diagram of what I think you want? Jaguar is a little different in that the last 6 numbers of your VIN are the real key instead of the year. Post those to get an accurate answer.

Default That helps

Thanks for the pdf. that helps. Looks like I need the connection piece that joins #5 , #9 and the other hose off to the left. Assuming #9 is the hose that runs off the main upper radiator hose.

Is the connecting piece a Jag specific part or is it something that can be purchased at any parts store?

I appreciate your help. I have been looking at these hoses for a week hesitant to connect them not knowing the exact the configuration.

Almost all parts are Jaguar only. Now with the early cars (2000-2002) and the V-6 you have the best shot. These cars share the most with the Lincoln LS and if available the LS part will always be a lower price. A very few things are on Rock Auto like the DCCV, coils, valve cover gaskets, plugs, intake gaskets.

So no the part you need is Jaguar only. One caution about used parts. DO NOT get any cooling system plastic parts used!!! The plastic decays over time and just taking things apart will destroy the pieces. I would plan on this when you do repairs/maintenance.

Again post your VIN to make sure your car uses the parts pictured. Get the JTIS off EBay for $10. This is the Jaguar shop manual. I would also get the free EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog). Search this forum for the kind fellow who is offering this. It's very good and the picture I posted came out it.

I cut the hoses off that crappy plastic tee, took them in and got a brass tee at a local hardware store, and a couple hose clamps. The next one to leak was the upper radiator hose, a 5 way piece of crap plastic, ordered it on Ebay for $72.

Default Got it

The diagram clubairth1 posted is what I needed. I ended up replacing the the upper radiator hose and used a plastic 3 way connector and brings the hoses together. Seems to work. Now off the replace the coils. I purchased the JTIS off ebay but can't get it to run. Mentioned it only runs on a 32bit system. Go figure. I appreciate everyones help!!! Mission accomplished!

This is correct. I run Win 7 Ultimate N 64 bit. If running a 64 bit OS. Download the free virtual Windows XP from Microsoft. It runs JTIS great on my machine.

You need to get the JTIS. It's the factory shop manual and is free on this site.

Best free thing you will ever get!
