Graham, Google "Dobersharks" These K-9's teeth are quite well known, especially the younger Dobies. Keeps scaring to a minimum!

Karl, thanks brother for going well beyond the call of your duty sir! Or would that be doody?? Hmmm

Thank you Chuck. The Phoebes is our second Doberman, she is only a year and 4 months. Yes you are correct, it could have been a lot worse if it were the seat. I believe that I would have used her hide to replace! Just to hijack this post, here is a picture of our first Lady Anna, she lived a great life of 14 years, see post 14:

Yes Zane, Although rotator cups, hips are a walk in the park from my understanding. I still would wish that pain on my worst enemy! Ha!

Well pro-dome Candice just left. It was a nice session. She began with the removal of that large bandage from above. Shockingly, I have a pretty sexy looking knee! With the bandage removed (for good), my articulation doubled. The pain is less and as mentioned wow it looks great. She commanded a couple exercises, to warm up to the grand finale, get ready for it........ a 90 degree bend BOOYAH!! unfreaking believable! My eyes did not cross nor did I have to pray or go through every cuss safe word I could think of. Now there is still pain but far, far less than a few hours ago. I still have my pre-session oxy in me so we will see. Things are looking up. Sadly my home PT ended this afternoon with Mistress Candice. I thanked her and I thanked her and I thanked for yet one more. I have graduated to out patient PT. Onto Amber, I hope she did not train under Mistress Candice.

There are no stitches, just glue. The purple is the pen which obviously will was off. For some reason I can hear Right said Fred in the background, I'm to sexy. Haha

I'm thinking statement #2 explains #1 and #3...

Well, that's it. Was considering a knee replacement, but have changed my mind.

Not just because of the operation, but because of the woman from hell, Candice. I spent two week in a rehab center after my stroke, and know the conditions you describe with your lovely Candice. I know she means well and is just doing what she's been trained to do, and you'll end up better for it, but I think, anyway, that I'll wait. :-00

Cheers???

Wow fellas, I guess watching all that daily TV as Norri said caught up to me. Well that and maybe 3 hours of combined sleep the past 12 days. After my daughters left for school this morning, The Phoebes and I curled up in bed and slept until 3 today, gotta say felt good really good!

Doesn't look like the Fed Ex guy showed up with seat belt today. Sorry to get off topic again .

Karl, I believe you might have been correct, but I still have a sexy knee! No Right said Fred today.

Jon, looks like that extra heavy duty 3200 holding strength plasti-weld I used for Joyce's rear lock actuator gear, what 6 years ago. But no, this actually held my knee!

Ok, I am going to come clean on Mistress Candace. She is actually a real sweet and caring PT, and cute to boot. When I was doing the paperwork for inpatient PT, I requested fast track to recovery. I don't mind pain, and working hard, I truly can not stand sitting (laying) around. Jon can attest!

When I met Candice, I did ask her to push me, so she was just doing what I requested. I am sore for it but, and it's a big but, when she left yesterday, she mentioned I am about a week ahead of normal recovery. Again I won't go into the heman discussion. Ten days ago, I seriously was saying I am not going to have my right done, I will live with the agony of my arthritis and pure worn out knee. No oxy or pain killers at all, just ice today and feeling great.

Saga will continue

Very positive report, Rick. Good to hear that you are ahead of schedule. Life is getting better every day. Now, while the house is empty go get some more sleep....

Not nearly so long nor painful recovery(Thankfully!,) but when I got fixed to lay on the porch and quit chasing cars, I settled in with the complete "Lonesome Dove" series as well as a host of other Robert DuVal and John Wayne VHS's(not DVD's) - which should serve to date the surgery, somewhat.

(but it is, after all, a "Darn Dog" thread, so I try to remain relevant)

Not an example of man's (*) best friend... a sad outcome I'm sorry to read about. Still, the car mends fairly easily.

Get well soon!

Well one previously enjoyed seat belt assembly arrived right on time. I really think I am going to have Joyce try some wrenching!

Ok, to jump off topic. I am outside drinking beers today. My neighbor Paul comes over and says let's replace the seat belt. Took all of about 15 minutes from start to finish except... That the windings and locking device prevented the belt to extend. Took a few minutes to pry a black cover off to give the belt enough slack to extend and retract. It was simple enough to figure out.

There are 2 star bolts that hold the seatbelt assembly in place, one on the the seat and the other to the door frame. I used a standard size Allen wrench to loosen/tighten. Yeah I improvised without 10 paragraphs and it worked. Replaced the couple of trim pieces that were just snapped into placed. Bob's yet Uncle.

Still eating my oxy but knee is bending and working. It's a 3 week recovery for a TKR. I am going to try to drive my kids to school tomorrow, but not in the S Type.

Good progress report, Rick. If you were feeling well enough to work on the S-Type while standing on concrete, that is certainly a good sign. Keep up with the rehab requirements and as you continue to break those internal adhesions left over from the surgery, your flexibility and range of motion should get better each day....

Hi Rick,

Glad to hear you are progressing well in your recovery. Will you now be setting off the metal detectors if you go through TSA at the airport?

I'll have to ask my daughter about the advisability of you eating oxy whilst drinking beers, Rick!

Thanks Mike. I was at the Dr. on Friday. Had my first x-rays post op. Boy what gorgeous x-rays they were. I should have photographed to show TSA, I guess my scar will be proof for now. With 600, 000 TKR's a year in the states, may be TSA knows, pfffttt who am I trying to kid!

Shish Zane, I am not driving for crying out loud , and they are cheap, lite beers to boot! They sure did taste good on a warm sunny Sunday afternoon!
