Defrost Actuator sourcing

Defrost Actuator sourcing
Well,, now that the lean errors have been fixed (thanks to all who provided advice), there is one more issue I have to deal with: the defrost actuator doesn't work. I do hear it "hunting" after the ignition is turned off, but we never get air through the defrost vent. From what I've read, it's probably time to replace the actuator, which leads me to ask 2 questions:
1) How difficult is this job? Can it be done from under the dash?
2) Is the actuator the same as used on a Lincoln LS, or do I have to get the part from Jaguar?
(OK, not actually two questions, but I already used the "2", & didn't want to waste it...)
If this is a major job, I probably can't do it (really bad back) & also probably can't afford to pay someone to do it for me. However, not having a defrost (or de-mist) function is more than a mere inconvenience when it starts raining in the middle of a long trip - such as we are looking at within the next couple of weeks!
