Default drive belt replacement V6

Hi All,
some assistance required I had my 2004 2.5 serviced and they replaced the engine drive delt. Since then I've had a bad smell in the car like burnt rubber or strong chemical odour. I think the drive belt my be to tight and this is the issue/smell. Is there a service manual on line or can someone help, tell me if I'm dreaming.

It's a spring tensioner so can only be too tight if they used a belt that's too small and somehow got it onto the pulleys. Not likely.

There are other things that could smell. Or it could be a bad new belt that's falling apart. Or it could be mis-fitted. Or... Only way is to go looking. I don't think you'll fix it otherwise. Good luck.

If you post the part # they used someone may be able to check it but it won't rule out the other issues.

ebay has the workshop manual (a Search would have go you this fact) at $10-20. You can join a pay service for more if you prefer, such as alldata diy or jag's own.

Yep be through most of it today and checked things but found nothing, have spread it with belt grip to see if that helps, maybe I will just put a deodorize in the engine bay.

Around here, some shops use spray-on cleaners to help remove the accumulated grease and grime after the old belt is removed and before the new belt gets installed. If you're lucky, those residue odors are what you're now smelling. You may want to call the shop and ask them....
