Earliest S Type
Working on my near perfect car I come across date stamps on panels. Today I found the rear SS mufflers were stamped 3 - 99. Still in perfect condition. The Boot lid is stamped 24 Mar 1999. The plastic cover above the radiator has feb 99 marked on the moulding with back references to June 98. How old are other S types? Paul
Cool
Ying and Yang, or Alpha and Omega
I have one of the last S-Types, a 4.2L Satin Edition (i.e., one of the last 750 to be manufactured). It was put into service on 2/18/08.
Bet mine has fewer miles that your's... ;-)

Last 6 VIN are L08635. Car has 74000 miles, . That 4.2 looks good.
"My S Type is: L04750" What date is stamped or marked on the black plastic moulding?
Dont worry: My car still has all the usual faults, headlights adjust gone, CC cold only, new tranny this month, which thanks to Ford was straightforward. Still drives perfectly, apart from loosing a bolt from the front brake calliper this week and people ask if its new!! Paul
