I have a 2007 3.0 S-type that does not recognize the key and appears to be in security lock down. I have a chance to buy a running, but damaged 2005 3.0 model. Does anyone know if ecu, ignition cluster etc is compatible with the 2007 model?

 

It's not likely that all will be OK.

If in anti-theft the PATS light will flash a code and OBD will have one/some.

 

I'll take a look at the codes
