Default Eng Chip Light

On Start and all Starts after, only, I get A chip light.
If I clear the light, it does not come on again until I start the engine again. Has never come on while running.
Any one with past knowledge[ ever have this problem? V-8 , 4.2

Chuck

Chuck, I'm not familiar with a "chip light". Are you talking about the check engine light on the dash?

I am also wondering how he is "clearing" the light...? If using a diagnostic tool to do this, then why not just run a scan?

Yeah your right, in aviation for almost 40 years... Sorry about the confusion, "it's "Check Engine Light" not Chip Light. Old farts get a little rusty at times....

Press the fuzz-burn button (but only allowed 3 per flight) or pull the chip detector, clean the magnet, analyze the particles, and maybe do a penalty-turn...or something like that....right Chuck?

Chuck, you need to get the codes read to identify the cause.
If you don't have a scanner any of the auto stores will do it for you.

Per one of my leads many years ago:

"If you can't read a serial number on any of the chips, the engine is good to go."

Hello Chuck
If i remember right you went through a fuel pump issue earlier this year.... whatever codes are retrieved surely post them as jagv8 has said....if they are fuel related, you might be under warranty...either way the members will surely get you sorted out....even if you buy your own code reader, they are easy to use
